It was a moment of great pride and celebration on Friday, October 24th, 2025 as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke as the 23rd Chief of Air Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. AVM Aneke, an accomplished officer and distinguished native of Abanabor Village, Umuaga Obodoeze, in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, brings with him an impressive record of service and leadership within the Nigerian Air Force. His appointment has been widely hailed as a recognition of excellence, hard work and dedication to national service, drawing commendations from various quarters across the country, especially from his home state of Enugu.
In her congratulatory message, the Deputy Leader Enugu State House of Assembly and Member representing Awgu North Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mrs. Jane Eneh, expressed delight over the appointment and described AVM Aneke as a worthy ambassador of Enugu State. She lauded his academic and professional achievements, highlighting that the collaboration between Governor Peter Mbah’s administration and the Federal Government continues to yield positive results. Rt Hon. Mrs. Eneh commended President Tinubu for appointing an Enugu born officer to such a vital national position and lauded the ongoing synergy between Governor Peter Mbah’s administration and the Federal Government, noting that it continues to bring progress and opportunities to the state. She further urged residents to remain supportive for Governor Mbah’s visionary leadership and sustainable development agenda to attract more dividends from the centre. She concluded by wishing AVM Aneke great success in his new role, expressing confidence that his appointment will further strengthen the Nigerian Air Force and enhance national security.
